Overview
About this notification
Punjab Agricultural University’s Gurdev Singh Khush Institute of Genetics, Plant Breeding and Biotechnology invites applications for one Project Scientist I. The position is funded through the Centre of Excellence project on advanced genomic technologies for targeted breeding. Applicants require BSc in Biotechnology, Agriculture, Horticulture or Biosciences with at least 60% marks or OCPA 6/10, MSc in Biotechnology, Plant Breeding and Genetics, Fruit Science or Vegetable Science with at least 65% or OCPA 6.5/10, and a PhD in the specified subjects with the same applicable postgraduate threshold. The notice permits consideration where the PhD is relevant but the master’s subject differs; applicants should follow that exact provision rather than assume the master’s degree itself is waived. The maximum age is thirty-five. Monthly remuneration is ₹56,000 plus 18% HRA, with a five-percent increment after two years subject to performance review. Download the actual prescribed form linked from the institute’s vacancy notice. Submit the completed application, attested supporting certificates and proof of the ₹200 fee to the institute office by 4:30 PM on 21 October 2026. The selection-committee meeting is scheduled for 5 November at 11 AM in the Director’s office; bring originals. The position is project based, and qualification and experience must be established through the submitted records. Read the institute’s official instructions for fee payment and any revised arrangements.
