If you are searching for the SSC MTS 2026 exam date, the short answer as of 9 October 2026 is that there is no official date yet. The Staff Selection Commission's calendar had planned the notice for June 2026 and the exam for September–November 2026, but the notice had not appeared on SSC's notice board when we checked.
This guide sets out exactly what SSC has published, how the previous MTS cycle's real dates compared with its planned dates, and how to plan your preparation while you wait. It does not predict a release date.
Checked against SSC's website calendar data and notice board on ssc.gov.in on 9 October 2026.
What SSC has published for MTS 2026
SSC's website calendar lists the Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff and Havaldar (CBIC and CBN) Examination, 2026 as follows:
| Calendar item | Planned date |
|---|---|
| Date of advertisement | 30 June 2026 |
| Closing date | 31 July 2026 |
| Exam (computer-based) | September–November 2026 |
These are tentative calendar entries, not notice dates. By 9 October 2026, more than three months after the planned advertisement date, no MTS 2026 notice had been posted on SSC's notice board. Until it is, any specific exam date you see elsewhere is not from SSC.

The MTS and Havaldar Examination, 2025 is the best guide to how far real dates can drift from the plan.
| Step | Planned | What actually happened |
|---|---|---|
| Notice | 26 June 2025 | Published 26 June 2025; applications 26 June to 24 July 2025 |
| Computer-based exam | 20 September to 24 October 2025 | Held 4 to 20 February 2026 |
| Tentative answer key | — | Released 3 March 2026, with challenges until 6 March 2026 |
| Result to shortlist Havaldar candidates for physical tests | — | Declared 3 August 2026 |
| Havaldar physical tests (PET/PST) | — | 24 to 31 August 2026, conducted by CBIC |
| Additional result | — | 7 October 2026, after partial relief granted by the Central Administrative Tribunal (Principal Bench) |
| First round of tentative allocation (MTS and Havaldar together) | — | Not yet declared; SSC says it will follow the physical tests |

Worked example: measuring the slip
The 2025 notice planned the exam to start on 20 September 2025. It actually began on 4 February 2026. From 20 September 2025 to 4 February 2026 is 137 days, or about four and a half months (10 days left in September, then 31 + 30 + 31 + 31 days for October to January, plus 4 days in February: 10 + 123 + 4 = 137).
That one data point does not tell you the 2026 delay, but it does show why a calendar month is a weak basis for planning. If you had aimed to peak in September 2025, you would have had to hold that level for four more months.
Why there are two MTS cycles to watch
Because the 2025 cycle is still finishing, candidates can be in both at once:
- If you sat the 2025 exam, watch for the first round of tentative allocation, which SSC says will cover MTS and Havaldar together after the physical tests.
- If you are aiming for 2026, watch for the notice itself. It will confirm the dates, the age reference date, the vacancy position and the scheme.
How to prepare without a date
The 2025 notice gives the most recent scheme, which is the safest basis for preparation until a new notice changes it:
- Session-I (45 minutes): Numerical and Mathematical Ability, and Reasoning Ability and Problem Solving, 20 questions each, 60 marks each, no negative marking.
- Session-II (45 minutes): General Awareness, and English Language and Comprehension, 25 questions each, 75 marks each, one mark deducted per wrong answer.
- Session-II is evaluated only if you qualify in Session-I, and merit is based on Session-II alone.
A practical approach is to work in monthly cycles:
Month start: check ssc.gov.in notice board; note the date checked
Weeks 1–3: Session-II topics (General Awareness, English), plus one Session-I set a week
Week 4: one full timed CBE (both sessions back to back), scored with the official marking
Month end: list the three weakest topics for next month
When the notice appears, read it in full before changing your plan, because the scheme, age limits or eligibility may change.

Frequently asked questions
Has the SSC MTS 2026 notification been released?
Not as of 9 October 2026. SSC's calendar planned it for 30 June 2026, but it had not appeared on the notice board when we checked.
When will the SSC MTS 2026 exam be held?
SSC's calendar lists September–November 2026 for the exam, but without a notice that is only a plan. The 2025 exam was held about four and a half months later than its planned start.
Has the MTS 2025 final result been declared?
Not yet. SSC says the first round of tentative allocation for MTS and Havaldar will be declared together after the Havaldar physical tests.
Will the MTS 2026 exam scheme be the same as in 2025?
SSC has not said. The 2025 notice is the latest official scheme, so prepare on that basis and check the 2026 notice for any change to sessions, marking or qualifying marks before you sit the exam.
