About this notification
Physical Research Laboratory’s Udaipur Solar Observatory offers four one-year traineeships: two Telescope Operator Trainees, one Office Trainee and one Hindi Translator Trainee. Email applications in the prescribed format close on 14 October 2026. Telescope applicants need the specified electronics and communication, electrical or mechanical diploma or engineering degree, or M.Sc Physics or Electronics, with at least 60% marks. Office applicants need a recognized degree in Arts, Commerce, Management, Science, Law or Computer Applications with at least 55%; engineering graduates are explicitly ineligible for this traineeship. Hindi Translator applicants need a master’s in Hindi with English, or in English with Hindi, as a compulsory or elective subject, and at least 55% marks. The normal age band is 18 to 28 for telescope and office trainees and 18 to 35 for translators, assessed on 14 October, with applicable government relaxations. Monthly stipends are₹28,000,₹23,500 and₹29,000 respectively.
