Electrician 1st year — what the paper actually asks

First-year trade theory stays on fundamentals: conductors and insulators, Ohm's law and the DC circuit laws, series and parallel networks, measuring instruments, cells and batteries, magnetism and electromagnetism, basic wiring systems, earthing, and electrical safety and first aid. The free first-year test draws from a 237-question verified bank, so repeat attempts keep pulling fresh questions rather than the same fifty.

Electrician 2nd year — where the difficulty steps up

Second year moves from principles to machines: DC generators and motors including starters and speed control, AC fundamentals and single- and three-phase systems, transformers, alternators and synchronous machines, induction motors, and power electronics basics. Questions become diagnostic rather than definitional — you are asked which fault explains a symptom, not what a term means, which is why first-year revision alone does not carry you through it.

Which test should you take first

If your AITT is at the end of first year, take the first-year test — the second-year paper covers machines you have not been taught yet and a low score tells you nothing useful. If you are in second year, start with the free 15-question second-year demo to see the CBT format and get a baseline, then work the full papers. Second-year candidates should still revise first-year fundamentals, because machine questions assume them.

ITI Electrician questions

Common questions

Is there a NIMI mock test for Electrician 2nd year?

Yes. Start with the free 15-question second-year demo to see the CBT format, then move to the full second-year papers. All second-year questions are verified and carry Hindi alongside English.

What is the difference between Electrician 1st and 2nd year papers?

First year tests fundamentals — circuit laws, measuring instruments, wiring, earthing and safety. Second year tests machines: DC motors and generators, transformers, alternators, induction motors and power electronics. Second-year questions are diagnostic, asking which fault fits a symptom, so they assume the first-year material rather than repeating it.

How many questions are in the Electrician banks?

The first-year bank holds 237 verified questions and the second-year bank 232, all with written explanations. Each attempt draws a fresh selection, so repeat practice does not simply repeat the same paper.
