University of Madras Controller, Professor Director and Dean Recruitment 2026

The University of Madras invites applications for three senior positions under one appointment notice: Controller of Examinations, Professor cum Director of the Centre for Distance and Online Education, and Dean of the College Development Council. Each has one vacancy and separate academic and experience requirements. Controller applicants need a master’s with 55% and either fifteen years teaching/research with the specified eight years at Reader/Associate Professor level and administration experience, or fifteen years administration including eight as Deputy Registrar/equivalent. Professor/Director requires the detailed PhD, publication/research-score and ten-year academic/professional routes. Dean requires the notified master’s and PhD with fifteen years teaching/research, including two years leadership experience. Ordinary upper ages are 55 for Controller/Dean and 57 for Professor/Director. PhD is merely desirable for Controller but mandatory under the other posts’ requirements.
