Monsoon arrived but rain didn’t, Telangana ends June with 12% rainfall deficit

The southwest monsoon, crucial for agricultural regions, has arrived in Telangana; however, the state recorded a 12% rainfall deficit by the end of June. This deficit is significant as the monsoon season, spanning from June to September, typically contributes about 740.6 mm, or 80%, of Telangana's annual rainfall of 923.8 mm. The insufficient rainfall could impact agriculture and water supply, making it a critical issue for farmers and policymakers alike.
