Delhi among five States starting SIR enumeration on June 30

On June 30, 2023, Delhi, along with Karnataka, Meghalaya, Maharashtra, and Jharkhand, initiated the SIR (State Identification Register) enumeration process aimed at enhancing the accuracy of voter lists. This initiative is crucial as it addresses discrepancies in the electoral roll and aims to streamline the electoral process in these states. With a combined voter base of 19.79 crore, the significance of this enumeration lies in its potential to improve democratic participation and ensure fair elections.
