Union government eases Quality Control Order rules for several sectors for five years

The Union government has relaxed the Quality Control Order (QCO) rules for various sectors for a period of five years, allowing selected domestic companies to source supplies from manufacturers licensed under Scheme II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) regulations. This change is significant as it aims to enhance domestic manufacturing capabilities and reduce dependency on foreign products. The easing of these regulations is expected to facilitate easier compliance for manufacturers and boost local industries.
