About the role
IIT Patna's COIL-D (Centre of Indian Language Data) project — funded by MeitY, Government of India under the Bhashini National Language Translation Mission — is hiring freelance translators for translation and machine translation (MT) evaluation work under a rolling advertisement (Advt No R&D/690/692/MeitY/537). Work is remote and freelance. Applicants should have a Master's degree (language/linguistics background preferred; knowledge of Hindi, Odia, Bengali or Maithili is relevant). Translate and evaluate machine translation output for Indian languages as part of the national language resources repository; contribute to corpus creation and annotation under the COIL-D project.
Master's degree required (M.A. in Language/Linguistics or related discipline preferred); knowledge of Hindi and/or Odia, Bengali, Maithili; experience with corpus creation and annotation is an advantage.
