PSC Full Form — Public Service Commission

PSC stands for Public Service Commission — a constitutional body responsible for recruiting candidates into civil service posts. At the central level, this is UPSC (Union Public Service Commission); each Indian state also has its own State Public Service Commission (State PSC).

State PSCs (such as UPPSC, BPSC, MPPSC, and others) recruit for state-level administrative, police and other Group A/B services within their respective states, following a process broadly similar in structure to UPSC's civil services exam — typically Prelims, Mains and Interview stages.

Eligibility, syllabus and exam calendars differ by state — always check the specific State PSC's official notification rather than assuming details from one state's PSC apply to another.
