JEE Main Syllabus 2026 FAQ

Is the JEE Main syllabus the same every year?

The core NCERT-based unit structure across Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics has stayed stable across recent cycles, but NTA can trim individual units (as it did previously with topics like Mathematical Reasoning and Surface Chemistry) — always cross-check the exact unit list against the current cycle's official notification.

How many questions does JEE Main Paper 1 have?

Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) has 75 required questions — 25 each from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, drawn from a larger question pool that includes optional numerical-value questions per section.

Is JEE Main syllabus a subset of NEET syllabus?

Physics and Chemistry overlap heavily since both draw on the same NCERT Class 11/12 textbooks, but JEE Main adds Mathematics instead of Biology — treat them as sibling syllabi with shared PCM foundations, not one contained inside the other.
