KPTCL deploys drone technology to fix defects in transmission lines

Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) has implemented drone technology to identify and rectify defects in transmission lines, resulting in a significant 85% reduction in power outages. The number of transmission-related incidents decreased from 519 to just 73 across the inspected corridors. This innovative approach not only enhances operational efficiency but also demonstrates the effective use of technology in improving infrastructure, which is crucial for sustainable energy management.
