SSC CGL 2026 Notification: Actual Release Date and Later Date Changes

The SSC CGL 2026 notification has already been published. The verified examination notice is dated 21 May 2026, so this preserved “expected date” URL now explains the actual notice and later date changes. It no longer predicts a January opening or an unverified vacancy total.

As of this review, the selected official records show a historical application window followed by a scheduled Tier I period. Read the latest SSC notice for your stage before acting. This page is a notification chronology and document-checking guide, not a live application form or a complete audit of every later vacancy update.

Editorially revised on 9 October 2026. Dates below are tied to identified official documents; hypothetical checking examples are labelled separately.

The actual notification date

The official SSC CGL 2026 examination notice is dated 21 May 2026. Its original application period ran from 21 May to 22 June. A later reopening notice changed the relevant deadlines, so the original cover page alone is insufficient for reconstructing the final application window.

This matters when an old blog, calendar widget or saved screenshot still says the notification is expected. A planned advertisement month does not override the dated examination notice. Keep the exact exam name and year beside the document rather than combining dates from CGL 2025 and CGL 2026.

The original notice contains detailed post, eligibility and examination provisions. This page does not turn one post's age limit, pay level or qualification into a rule for every CGL post. Read the relevant row and notes for the post you are considering.

The reopening and revised application dates

SSC's reopening notice dated 23 June 2026 reopened applications and changed the closing, fee and correction dates. The final dates established by that document are shown below as historical records, not a current invitation to apply.

EventDated official record
Notification issued21 May 2026 examination notice
Revised application close25 June 2026, 23:00, under the 23 June reopening notice
Revised fee deadline26 June 2026, 23:00, under that reopening notice
Revised correction window1–3 July 2026, ending 23:00, under that notice
Later Tier I schedule30 September–30 October 2026, stated in the 21 September notice

The reopening notice's eligibility instruction concerns provisions linked to the closing date. Do not assume that every separately specified reference date moved. An age reference, qualification condition or other independently dated requirement needs to be read in its own clause.

By 9 October, those cited June application and July correction dates are in the past. A working portal or old application button does not establish that a fresh application is accepted. Check a new official instruction if you believe another opportunity or process applies.

Use the later Tier I notice

The SSC notice dated 21 September 2026 states that Tier I is scheduled from 30 September to 30 October 2026. That supersedes the original notification's tentative August–September month range for this schedule.

The same notice directs candidates to their SSC login for examination-city information and admission certificates. It describes certificate availability as tentative, two or three days before the individual's examination date. This does not establish that every certificate is available on one common day.

The overall period does not tell you your own date, shift, venue or reporting instructions. Read your individual official information and current SSC updates. Do not rely on a friend with a different examination date or a screenshot from a different region or cycle.

Keep a short notice-version record

Save the notification and relevant amendments in a private folder with clear names. Record the issue date and what each document changes. Do not rename an amendment as a new examination notification if it only changes an application deadline.

A practical record has five fields: document title, date, official link, affected condition and next action. A source can be genuine while your interpretation is wrong. For instance, a later fee-payment date is not automatically a later application-submission date.

For the cited sequence, record the May notice as the foundation, the June notice as a reopening/deadline amendment and the September notice as a stage schedule and candidate-information update. Keep other relevant official notices alongside them when your stage requires them.

A fictional reference-date check

Suppose an invented examination notice has an application closing date and a separately specified age reference date. A later fictional amendment extends applications but says nothing about age. You should not silently recalculate the age condition using the extended close.

Now suppose an amendment expressly changes a closing-date-linked eligibility condition. Read which condition changed and apply that instruction to that condition. Do not extend it to every date in the original document.

This example describes a checking method, not an individual eligibility decision for CGL. If the official wording leaves your case unclear, use SSC's stated help or clarification route and keep the relevant clause available. A blog cannot adjudicate a certificate, category claim or qualification equivalence.

Vacancy and salary claims need their own sources

The selected chronology does not establish the latest vacancy total or department allocation. SSC can publish tentative vacancy updates separately. Read the relevant current vacancy document and retain its tentative status rather than repeating an old estimate as a final count.

Likewise, the notification's post-specific pay levels are different from a prediction of take-home salary. Allowances, deductions, posting and applicable rules can matter. This page makes no projection about an 8th Pay Commission salary or a fixed gross salary shared by every CGL post.

If comparing posts, keep the notified post name, level and conditions together. Do not compare a speculative salary from one article with the basic pay in another and treat them as equivalent amounts. The SSC CGL overview provides a separate post-selection checklist.

Preparation resources remain separate from status

For the verified scheme and worked practice examples, use the SSC CGL pattern guide. For an adaptable study process, use the six-month preparation roadmap.

Those guides do not establish your current application status or candidate schedule. A preparation resource can remain useful after applications close, but it cannot reopen a recruitment window. Check the resource's stated pattern and limitations before treating a mock as a full simulation.

The SSC official website remains the source for later notices and individual candidate access. For discovery across organisations, use latest government jobs and verify the relevant official notice before applying.

Check before sharing a date

Include the exam cycle, event type, source document and whether the date is original, revised or tentative. “CGL 2026 Tier I schedule in the 21 September notice” is more useful than “SSC date announced” without identifying the stage.

When a later notice changes a condition, update the action rather than deleting the history. If you have only a prediction, label it as a prediction and avoid presenting it as an official announcement. Once the actual notice is available, use that dated record instead.

Common questions

When was the SSC CGL 2026 notification released? The verified official examination notice is dated 21 May 2026.

Can I apply using the June reopening now? The cited reopening closed on 25 June. It is a historical amendment, not an October application invitation.

What is my Tier I examination date? The overall schedule does not answer that. Use your individual official candidate information and current instructions.

Is Tier II confirmed for a particular December day? This page has not verified a confirmed Tier II day. Do not convert the original notice's tentative month into an exact date.

Are these all later amendments? No. This page documents selected date-changing and stage notices. Read the current official board for your particular action and any later update.
