Use a small shareable example rather than sending a full private history at the first enquiry. Suppose your evidence is: “In a student event, I created a workbook with SUMIF category totals and checked entries against a supplied receipt log. No time-saving measurement was recorded.”
Ask the provider to make the line clearer while retaining the student setting, task and measurement boundary. Request an explanation of any substantial change. For a paid service, agree what a sample or consultation costs before accepting it; do not assume a trial is free.
Proposal A: fluent but unsupported
“Automated financial reporting and cut reconciliation time by 40%.” Reject it unless those facts are genuinely established elsewhere. The evidence does not describe automation, a professional finance role or a measured reduction.
The same standard applies whether the proposal comes from a person or a tool. Persuasive language is not evidence. Ask what source supports the new claim; an answer about what recruiters like does not resolve the factual gap.
Proposal B: accurate but incomplete
“Prepared an expense workbook for a student event.” This preserves the setting but omits useful task detail. It may be a reasonable starting point, yet you can ask the reviewer to retain the formulas and checking work if relevant to the vacancy.
A restrained edit is not automatically the final edit. Accuracy and relevance should work together. Review what the line helps the reader understand, rather than adding adjectives to make it sound stronger.
Proposal C: bounded and relevant

It still needs your confirmation. Did you build the workbook yourself? Were the entries genuine event records or a teaching exercise? If another person designed the formulas, credit your actual contribution. The test shows how to inspect an edit, not a universal winning sentence.
Questions for a human writing or review service
Ask who will do the work, what experience they have with your type of task, and how they gather missing facts. A useful reviewer should be willing to clarify a claim rather than silently filling gaps. Credentials or testimonials may help you investigate a provider but do not prove a particular draft is accurate.
Clarify the deliverable, number of revisions, turnaround arrangement, editable files, payment terms and any refund conditions in writing. Check whether the quoted scope includes role-specific content review or only layout. Do not accept a general claim of ATS approval as a guarantee about every employer's system.
Ask how uploaded information is handled and whether the provider uses other tools or subcontractors. Share only material you are entitled to disclose. An NDA or a paid invoice does not remove your responsibilities toward customer, colleague or employer information.

Check its current official instructions, account controls and export options. Find out what information the task actually requires before uploading a whole resume. Remove identity numbers, contact details and confidential project content where possible; anonymisation should also consider identifying context.
Use the tool's output as proposed wording, not a factual record. Review new verbs, qualifications, dates, proficiency claims and outcomes. A model may retain an existing number accurately while changing the activity that number describes.

Check facts against your records, meaning against your evidence and relevance against the vacancy. Open the actual exported file and verify layout, links and requested format. Preserve the submitted version for later interview preparation.
Do not let an assistant invent ownership because the stronger wording sounds more competitive. If a reviewer recommends a claim you cannot verify, reject it or narrow it. You can ask for another wording while retaining the boundary.
