Angikaar - A Campaign for Change Management under PMAY(U)

The Angikaar campaign, launched on 29th August 2019, focuses on behavior change and awareness generation for beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). It involves the identification and registration of Angikaar Resource Persons (ARPs), conducting need assessments, door-to-door awareness campaigns, and organizing training workshops at state and city levels. The campaign includes a comprehensive IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) plan with activities such as street plays, health camps, plantation drives, puppet shows, radio jingles, SMS campaigns, school competitions, and media outreach. Key milestones include uploading IEC plans and assessment reports on the PMAY(U) MIS portal, conducting training of trainers, forming monitoring committees, and organizing city-level launch and culmination events. The campaign aligns with the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and emphasizes community participation and sustainable urban development.
