The Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, has issued a notification to amend the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. The notification introduces a new clause to the existing notification No.12/2017-Central Tax (Rate), dated 28th June, 2017. The new clause provides for the exemption of electrically operated vehicles meant to carry more than twelve passengers from the tax. The notification comes into effect from 1st August, 2019.
