The Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization (SMAM) will be implemented as a component of Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) with the following objectives and operational guidelines described hereunder. The main objective of SMAM is to increase the reach of farm mechanization to small and marginal farmers and to the regions where availability of farm power is low.
