The Government of Assam, Home and Political Department, is recruiting for the position of Deputy Superintendent of Police (Probationer) in Assam Police Service (Junior Grade). The selected candidate will be appointed as Deputy Superintendent of Police (Training) in Pay Band 4: Rs.30,000/-1,10,000/- plus Grade Pay of Rs.13,300/- and will draw salary as per pay fixed for APS (Trainee) appointed through Assam Public Service Commission after his joining the service. The appointment is subject to satisfactory Police Verification Report and Medical Report. The candidate will be covered under the "New Defined Contribution Pension Scheme" as per Finance (Budget) Department O. M. No. BW.7/2008/Pt/40 dated 06/10/2009 and the Assam Service (Pension) Rules, 1969 shall not be applicable. There shall be no distinction between a candidate appointed to Assam Police Service by the Assam Public Service Commission through direct recruitment and a candidate appointed under Rule 5.(I) (c ) (ii) of the Assam Police Service Rules, 1966. As such, Shri Jayanta Talukdar appointed to Assam Police Service under Sports Stream as per Rule 5.(I) (c ) (ii) of the Assam Police Service Rules, 1966, will be treated as an APS officer at par with any other APS officers and will be subjected to the Assam Police Service Rules, 1966. The Batch of the candidate appointed under Rule 5.(I) (c ) (ii) of the Assam Police Service Rules, 1966 shall be the same as the Calendar Year. Since Shri Jayanta Talukdar is appointed in the year 2024, his Batch is fixed as 2024. Seniority of the candidate should be immediately after the last incumbent of Assam Police Service who has been appointed prior to this Notification.
