The Union Territory of Lakshadweep Administration, Department of Revenue, Collectorates, Kavaratti, has issued a notification for the appointment of Executive Magistrates for the General Election 2024. The notification is issued under the powers conferred under Section 20(1) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (2 of 1974) read with Notification No.S.0.183 (E) dated.20" March, 1974 of the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi. The Administrator, Union Territory of Lakshadweep, is pleased to appoint the following Officers as Executive Magistrates with jurisdiction noted against each in connection with the General Election 2024. The Officers will exercise all or any of the powers exercisable by an Executive Magistrate under the said code. The Competent Authority is also pleased to specifically empower the above-mentioned Executive Magistrates, to exercise the powers specified under Section 107, 108, 109, 110, 133, 143&144 of the code. This Notification shall have effect from date of announcement of General Election — 2024, by the Election Commission of India and shall remain in force till the completion of General Election - 2024.
