The Directorate General of Shipping, Mumbai, under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, New Delhi, invites applications for the post of Chief Ship Surveyor-cum-Joint Director General (Technical) on deputation (including short-term contract) basis. The post is in the pay scale of Rs. 37,400-67,000/- (HAG) (Revised pay scale of Rs. 1,44,200-2,18,200/- Level-14 as per 7th CPC) in the Directorate General of Shipping, Mumbai. The period of deputation (including short-term contract) in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organization or Department of the Central Government shall ordinarily not exceed five years. The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation (including short-term contract) shall not be exceeding 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.
Deputation (including short-term contract) / Promotion - Officers under the Central Government or Union Territory Administrations or Port Trusts or Shipping Companies or Shipyards in the Public Sector; - Holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre or department; or - with three years service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in the scale of pay of Rs. 1430O-183OO or equivalent in the parent cadre or department; and - Possessing the following educational qualifications and experience, i) Degree in Naval Architecture from a recognized University or equivalent ii) 15 years experience in design, construction and repair of ships.
