The government plans to include online and e-commerce price data in calculating retail inflation (CPI) to improve its accuracy, reliability and relevance. As part of a broader statistical overhaul, the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) is revising the base years for CPI, GDP and the Index of Industrial Production (IIP).
