The Directorate General of Shipping has issued an advisory to beware of seafarer recruitment scams involving maritime training. A DGS-approved Maritime Training Institute, 'R.R. MARINES ACADEMY, JAIPUR', has been found to be involved in illegal practices of seeking payment for providing jobs onboard ships. The Directorate General of Shipping has initiated an investigation into the matter and has suspended the MTI from undertaking any courses until the completion of the investigation.
