The Government of Punjab has issued a notification to exempt residential density for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) housing in various mega, super mega projects, and colonies being developed in Punjab. This exemption is applicable to the percentage of area mandatory for EWS and is exclusive from the density to be determined for the whole residential project. The notification also specifies that the density of EWS shall be counted for the purpose of calculation of Infrastructure and Services to be provided in the project.
