Applications are invited for a purely project-based temporary position in ICSSR funded project on 'Gaps between environmental policies and human actions: a study of the impact of natural disaster in Garhwal Himalaya on the women of Rudraprayag district and their coping strategies.' The position is available at G.B. Pant Institute of Himalayan Environment & Development, Garhwal Unit, Srinagar (Garhwal), Uttarakhand. The selected candidate will work on a project funded by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR). The project aims to study the impact of natural disasters on women in the Rudraprayag district of Garhwal Himalaya and their coping strategies. The candidate will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data, conducting interviews, and writing research papers. The position is available for a temporary period, and the selected candidate will be paid a consolidated salary of Rs. 25,000 per month. The candidate must have a Ph.D. degree in Botany, Environmental Science, or Forestry with a First Class in M.Sc. in the respective subjects. Those who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis and not yet awarded their degree may also be considered. The candidate should have working experience in rural landscapes or disaster-affected areas of Uttarakhand and knowledge of computer applications. The age limit for the position is 35 years, with relaxation for SC/ST/Women/PH and OBC candidates as per Government norms.
