Applications are invited for the following purely project based temporary positions at G.B. PANT NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF HIMALAYAN ENVIRONMENT & SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT. The Institute invites candidates with adequate qualifications and appropriate experience in relevant subject/specialization with good academic records to appear for Walk-In-Interview on June 08, 2018 at 10:00 AM onward at Kosi-Katarmal (Almora) campus of the Institute. Research Associate (01 No.) under National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS) Himalayan Fellowship Programme (CBCM) Emoluments: @ Rs. 36,000/ p.m. + HRA Age: 35 years Qualification: Doctoral (Ph.D) or equivalent degree with first class Masters degree in Botany, Forestry, Zoology, Biodiversity, Biotechnology, Ecological Economics, Resource management. Desirable: Specialization and/or experience of working in biodiversity conservation, Natural Resource Management, Ecological Economics, Climate Change impacts, Knowledge Networking, and knowledge product development with publications in reputed journals Nature of Duties & Responsibilities: Detailed information collection, analysis synthesis, knowledge networking, linkage with national and global Institutions, extensive field work and knowledge product development. 2. NMHS-UBB-RSR funded project entitled Mainstreaming Landscape Approach for Biodiversity Conservation, Improved Livelihoods and Ecosystem Health in Kailash Sacred Landscape part of India Position: Senior Project Fellow (01No.); initially for one year, extendable on performance Emoluments: @18000/Month +HRA; Age: 32 years Qualification: First class Masters Degree in Botany/Forestry/Environmental Science with consistently good academic records. More than 2 years research experience with proven record Desirable: Extensive filed survey and monitoring for establishing restoration models. Data collection, analysis and report preparation; community interaction and capacity building. Experience of working in Forest Restoration 3. A sustainable approach for livelihood improvement by integrated natural resource management in the central Himalaya Position: Junior Project Fellow (02 Nos.) Emoluments: @ Rs. 16,000/ month +HRA Age: Maximum 28 Years Essential Qualification: First Class Masters degree in Science/ Social science Desirable experience/ Duties: Physically fit to work in the Himalayan Mountains. Field demonstration, technology transfer, capacity building, database development, data analysis and manual/report preparation 4. In house Project-2 entitled Long term ecological monitoring in western Himalaya and knowledge generation for decision making Position: Field Assistant/Data Entry Operator (01No.); Initially for one year Emoluments: @Rs. 10000/Month Age: Maximum 28 Years Essential Qualification: Bachelors degree in Science/Arts from recognized University with consistently good academic record Desirable experience/ Duties: Assist in field data collection/data entry. Good knowledge of computer (preference for diploma course in computer application). Experience of working in mountain region 5. DBT funded project entitled Creating a Genomics platform for Apple research in India Phase-II Position: Field Assistant (01 No.) Initially for one year Emoluments: Rs. 9,000/- pm (Fixed) Age: upto 35 Years Essential Qualification: Intermediate Job description and preference for candidate: Maintenance of apple germplasm repository at Suryakunj and Govt. Horticulture Garden Chaubatia. Experience of working in the Himalayan region. Knowledge of scion collection, grafting and transplantation of apple cultivars 6.
