The G.B. PANT NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF HIMALAYAN ENVIRONMENT & SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT is inviting applications for Junior Research Fellow/Junior Project Fellow positions. The positions are purely project/contractual based temporary and are available for the following projects: Integrated Studies of Himalayan Cryosphere in Uttarakhand and Arunachal Pradesh, Water Sustainability Mapping in Himalaya: Status, Trends and Options, and Ecosystem Service in Changing Biodiversity State: A Comparative Study of Western and Eastern Himalayan Forest Stands. The candidates should have a Master's degree in Physics/Geology/Earth Science/Geography or relevant subject/B. Tech in relevant branch of Engineering. The age limit is 28 years for the first two positions and 35 years for the third position. The selected candidates will be paid a stipend of Rs. 16,000/- pm + HRA for NET JRF/GATE qualified or Rs. 12,000/- pm + HRA for others. The positions are available for a duration of up to 2018-19. The candidates should have experience of working with GPS/GIS environment and field work in high altitude areas across Himalaya/glaciers in Uttarakhand or Arunachal Pradesh. The candidates should also have experience of EIA studies of Hydropower projects/study of Watershed hydrology and water management.
