The G.B. Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment and Sustainable Development is inviting applications for Junior Project Fellow (JPF) positions in a research project entitled 'Timberline and Altitudinal Gradient Ecology of Himalayas, and Human Use Sustenance in a Warming Climate' funded under National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS). The project aims to study the timberline and altitudinal gradient ecology of the Himalayas and human use sustenance in a warming climate. The selected candidates will be required to undertake extensive field work in high altitude and snow clad areas of Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir, and Sikkim states and conduct field research, experimentation, and surveys. The positions are purely project-based and will be made initially for one year and likely to be continued for next two years based on satisfactory progress and performance of the candidate. Relaxation in upper age limit for SC/ST/OBC/Women/Physically handicapped candidates as per Govt. of India norms will be applicable.
